Do you think you can change the world?

Zvonimir Sedlić

Today, technology is changing everything, and we are at the critical point to choose the direction that we will keep on going. All models need to be reshaped to radically reduce our unsustainable footprint on the planet. I’ve chosen my direction to change the world, and so can you!

How can we reduce our impact on environment?

Marcel Kappe

By changing the way we consume food. It is not sustainable to keep eating meat (proteins) as we do today. Even though I am a meat eater as well, I changed to vegan substitutes as well on a regular basis. This means that we must produce worldwide more plant-based proteins. I always say “a cow is a very inefficient protein factory” creating a lot of waste to our environment.

How would you define innovation?

Nicolai Winding Andersen

NUTRIS has teamed up with the Scientists originally from the University of Copenhagen and now working for the SiccaDania Group as plant processing developers. In collaboration with them, NUTRIS is commercializing their patented method of separating plant material components gently and efficiently. The end products are high-quality protein ingredients perfect for plant-based meat, bakery, and beverage products. NUTRISmart protein isolate is an exciting new product for the plant-based food sector since it is nearly tasteless. It contains a low amount of antinutritional components but is very high in functionality, making the best possible textures in the final consumer products. NUTRIS and its team of experts are helping the industry develop new applications using quality fava proteins.

Why is sustainability so important for humans?

NUTRIS management

The definition of sustainability is that we meet our present needs without compromising future generations’ ability to meet their own needs. Sustainability is crucial in food production because of the global population growth and the general wealth increase growth in the demand for food, increasing the land areas needed for farming to feed the increase in animals needed for food production. This development is not sustainable, and we need to get our proteins from alternative sources, such as plant proteins from fava beans. Measuring the green footprint of NUTRISmart fava protein from the field across the harvest to the final product, the process emits under 20% CO than protein from beef. Switching to NUTRISmart protein isolates and eating plant-based alternative food makes a big difference for future generations
